The foreign voice on the other ends says ‘A collect call from God will you accept the charges’?
What would be your response should you receive the call? If you knew it was costing you in toll charges, it’s fair to say you’d be very keen to know exactly what it was God had to say and so you’d be listening quite intently.
Fortunately, God doesn’t speak to us through collect calls but it’s an interesting scenario to look at when we gauge how we listen to Him. Some of the following ways we listen to God should encourage us. The most exciting thing you could ever experience is to have the creator of the universe speak directly to your heart.
In our walk with God there are times where God may need to get our attention.
Times when we are heading off track or out of His will, God may need to lovingly correct us.
There may be an important decision around the corner where we will need His wisdom or perhaps when we are hurting ourselves and others by our choices. We may simply be doing our own thing and not listening and Jesus desires for us to get back in step with Him.
The last few weeks we have been looking at the topic of listening to God.
How does God speak to us today? Do our prayers consist more of a shopping list for the day, or do we wait to hear what our Creator has to say to us personally? God desires to speak to each of us. More than that, He also knows how much we need to hear from Him and so He tailors His approach to each of us, so we understand clearly what He is saying.
