Recently for Mother’s Day my wife decided to treat my mum to a new car stereo. Mum’s stereo had not been working since she had an airbag replaced in a product recall and it was never put back right. Mum likes her music and the couple of hours travel distance between our place and hers has been particularly long for her in silence with her dog who is not much of a chatter. Replacing her stereo looked like a great option and easy favored child points to be had. My lovely wife did some research into costs for an auto electrician, which when costed up looked a very expensive option.

Roll in YouTube. My lovely wife looked up how to dismantle the dashboard of a Mazda Demio and convinced me that I could replace mum’s stereo myself at a fraction of the price. I am always up for a challenge; it was worth a punt.
